Connecting a Domain to Webflow in 2025 (Even If You’re Not ‘Techy’)
.avif)
So you’ve finally got your domain. You’ve built a website on Webflow.
And now you want your website to live at yourname.com, not yourname.webflow.io.
But the moment you try to connect the domain, things start to feel… messy.
DNS records. A records. CNAME. TTL. What?
Don’t worry. This blog is for you. Whether you’re a startup founder, a solo builder, or someone just starting their online journey, we’ll walk through it, calmly.
There Are Two Ways to Connect Your Domain to Webflow
Webflow gives you two main options to connect your domain:
- Quick Connect (Automated method)
- Manual Setup (Copy-paste into your DNS settings)
1. Quick Connect (The Easy, But Limited One)
.avif)
Webflow recently introduced a “Quick Connect” feature that works with domain providers like GoDaddy or Namecheap.
This is the easiest method, but it only works if:
- You have login access to your domain provider (not via Google Login)
- Your domain registrar is supported by Webflow
- You’re okay giving Webflow temporary permission to make DNS changes
Steps:
- Inside your Webflow project, go to Settings → Publishing → Production → Quick Connect Domain
- Click continue and enter your domain (like
yourstartup.com
) - Webflow will guide you to login to your domain provider
- Approve access and let Webflow handle the rest
☝️ Note: If you used Google login when buying your domain (like via Google Domains or Google-linked Namecheap), this method may not work.
In that case, you’ll need to go manual 👇
2. Manual Setup (Still Easy, Just 10–15 Minutes)
Don’t panic, manual doesn’t mean difficult.
Steps:
- Now click manually add domain instead of quick.
- Add your domain
- Webflow will give you 1 TXT 2 A Records and 1 CNAME
- Login to your domain provider (e.g., GoDaddy or Namecheap)
- Go to DNS settings
- Delete old A Records if any
- Add this records
- Click verify in Webflow.
Not Sure Which Way to Choose?
- If Webflow offers Quick Connect and you didn’t use Google login → Use it
- If it doesn’t work or you want full control → Manual method is better
- If you don’t want to touch anything → Let me help
